Cathy Kerr Reports:
Hello! I am finally updating on Don Mills /Amexon /ICICI: Our girl Tardis has stayed in town.. Unusual but not unheard of! She has been spotted, and pictured, since November, downtown along the waterfront, well fed and doing well ❤️. I have been watching her parents, Jenna and Chester, all winter long around the nest site. For a while I would only see one bird at a time but finally, Jan 13, I spotted 2! One on the west corner of ICICI, and the other on the south corner… But wait… Did I see 2 on the south corner?? Oh yes I did!!! Three!!!! And my coworker can verify (I was so excited, I made her double and triple check for me lol) this! Now, I cannot say 100 % what three I saw but… Peregrines defend their territory and I doubt very much they would just sit together watching a intruder hang out on their building…. Sooooo, was it Tardis home for a visit??!! I would like to think so. The very next day I watched Chester chase a poor hawk out of the site (the poor thing took quite a few hits and landed on the apartment building to the south, scattering pigeons every where… Lost sight of it there lol) so…. Would he have sat watching an intruder the day before??!! Hmmm… What do you think ? The last picture is of the two of them on Tuesday, hanging out on their favourite sign. Hoping for the best for them this upcoming season, which is coming up fast… I can’t wait !!
The 1st picture is of Tardis, Nov 4.19 taken by Miles Hearn. The 2nd, is of Tardis, Dec 15.19 taken by Brian Bailey. 3rd pic if of Tardis, Dec 22.19, taken by Vincent Falardeau. The 4th, Chester, 5th, Jenna taken Jan 14, 2020. Last picture is of Jenna & Chester taken Feb 18, 2020.

Harry Crawford Reports:
This is 5:15pm and I have Hunter on the south side of the CIBC building.
He was here in the same spot and time yesterday and was with Ariel at the
same location a few days before that. This is significant because Hunter
hasn’t been seen in the area for close to a month. He is 21 now and I was
a bit concerned. Some aerial activity has been seen southeast of Yonge &
Bloor so they may be hanging around the new condos in the area.

December 30, 2019 - Scarborough - Yellow Pages
Marion Nash Reports:
She’s in great shape. I had been seeing a pair hunting together off and on for a few weeks and wonder if she’s one of the banded birds I had been seeing. I was never able to get a good look at either bird’s band combo, so it’s hard to say. I have a contact with the Michigan DNR that has records of all of the breeding pairs in the area and I was going to check with her to see about your bird.
All raptors we trap and relocate are part of wildlife control operations at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. She was trapped in a swedish goshawk trap and relocated to state land in Chelsea, Michigan. Getting her away from the airport environment is the safest thing for her as well as the aircraft.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. Happy New Year.

Marion Nash Reports:
Finally, we are back up!! Yaaah!! Thank you to all for your support, patience, and understanding with this. After all was said and done, the final problem was with the DLink router/switch that needed to be reprogrammed for the new settings to deal with the Rogers settings.
The CPF webmaster was then able to reconfigure the final settings at the server end and it appears that everything is working again!
Once again, a huge thank you to Frieda and CBRE management,, Damar Security and Daniel at the CPF for all of their efforts and support in getting us through this challenge!
Despite the few hiccups over the past 22 years with camera changes and a couple of power outages and some computer challenges, the Etobicoke peregrine web camera remains the longest-standing, continuous running active peregrine web camera (and active/occupied, and producing nest nest site) in North America!
The Etobicoke Bloor and Islington nest camera(s) have been active (and for the most parts) been up and running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for the past 22 years! The Bloor and Islington nest site has been both active and been producing offspring each and every year since 1997!
The Bloor and Islington nest site has been a very important part of the restoration and recovery of Ontario’s peregrine population with the surviving generations of offspring that has gone on to produce their own offspring in five different cities in two provinces here in Canada and four US states in the USA!
Once again,, thank you ALL for your support!!

Marion Nash Reports:
Hi Marion,
Unfortunately, we’ve been informed that Clifton did not survive the surgery on Friday. Below is the message from Shades of Hope.
We were hoping for a better outcome.
On a positive side, our brief interaction with the rescue and care of Clifton has raised our awareness about peregrine falcons, along with many family and friends.
We wish you continued success with the Canadian Peregrine program.
Sincerely,
David

Marion Nash Reports:
Hi Marion,
I’ve received a preliminary update from Shades of Hope. The falcon has a serious Radius/Ulnar fracture that will require surgical pinning. It is still too early to decide if the falcon will survive surgery.
They will provide updates by email.
I’ll let you know if I hear any further info.
Kindly,
David

Wow busy Thanksgiving weekend for our Peregrine 2019 offspring! Grace banded at the Beachville nest June 5th 2019 ( perhaps looking so take a plane ride south for the winter instead of flying herself) Lets hope she stay’s away from the airports for the rest of her migration

This weekend we captured a peregrine falcon with a blue band on the right leg and on the left leg it had a colored band with black background and white writing Z on top and 42 on the bottom. This bird is being relocated to Chelsea
Chelsea is a city in Washtenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,944 at the 2010 census. In March 2004 by a 995-226 vote, residents approved a change in municipal status from a village into a city.
