Brampton Courthouse the Male on watch and you can see the shadow of the Female as she eats the meal he brought her, but no news , both there, mating seen Fri and Sat. but no eggs down yet

VELCRO HAS A HOME & A MATE!

March 29, 2024 - Oshawa - Lakeridge Hospital

LAKERIDGE HOSPITAL NEST:

Sally, Lucie and I decided to head out to the Lakeridge Hospital site to confirm the identity of the nesting pair. We are very excited to confirm that our boy Velcro has been confirmed as the resident male at this site!! And it’s been confirmed that he was here last year as well(thanks to Linda) !! We also confirmed (thank you Sally for that pic!!) that Alfrieda, 73/AW, 2012 hatch out of Buffalo NY is still the resident female (& since 2014!!).  They had 2 chicks last year(Grandkids of our Quest & Mystery) . We have no way, atm, of knowing if Velco was there before that. But he has a wonderful site and a good mate, great news!! And even better, as they have a wonderful camera there, we can follow them.  Here is the link :

DON MILLS/AMEXON :  Congrats to Holden and Nagata! It’s 3 eggs, so far!  We’ll find out at hatch time if more, as we won’t be going up to check again until then so as not to upset them. These pictures are from 2 visits, one Sally came with me and today’s when Rob came up. He’ll be sending me his pictures later to share.

Good news from the MASTERS CONDOS in Etobicoke!  ARIA laid her first egg on Friday, March 22 at 10 am.  Her second egg came on Sunday, March 24 at 7 pm.  Thank you to Kathy Majich and also Marlene Cater and Martin Dekkers (who took this photo) from the Masters for keeping us up to date!  Cheers, Lucie :)

Update on Don Mills :  Canuck and Bellatrix are down on eggs! I’ve seen both of them in the box since last week. Unfortunately we cannot see in the nest box so we don’t know how many. Hatch watch starts in a little less than a month!!
