Marion Nash Reports:
I thought you might like an update for early Spring…
Raptorette (adult female on the right) who was banded in 2019 (Black Z/28) in Toronto at Canada Square spent all winter in Anderson, Indiana after successfully raising two young. The adult male left (on the left banded in May 2012 Canton, Ohio) and has returned for the third year in a row. He feeds Raptorette very well all year long. Hoping for some eggs soon and another successful breeding season.

Cathy Kerr Reports:
I have been stopping by almost every day, so the pictures are from different days. But I am starting with this afternoon’s pics as I observed an exchange!! Dad was in the nest box when I arrived. He came out after 10 minutes or so (its a warm day here), then preened. Quest came in after 15 minutes or so, they echupped (just love hearing them!!) and dad flew off. Quest then headed into the nest box, looked like she rolled a bit then settled in the nest box. Let’s hope for successful hatches in just over a month from now

Seen these at Beachville Monday March 15, 2021 4pm. Spotted the one in the tree, then the second busted into my viewfinder. They may have had a little spat even. So precious to see again.

Cathy Kerr Reports:
I have been checking in on our lovely couple over the winter here and there, plus have had reports of sighting from our friend Carolyn. I stopped by yesterday to find Quest on the nest ledge, looking warm(she even went into the only shady corner for abit). She then flew off and Dad flew in! He went into the nest box and looked like he was settling in(over eggs maybe??!!). He didn’t sit long(it was a very warm afternoon) and sat outside the box for the rest of the time I was there. Do we have an egg(s)?? Only time will tell…..

Marion Nash Reports:
Just got a report from the banding office that Quin a male produced at the Toronto Sheraton Hotel in 2019 was reported in Rochester August of 2019 and is also being reported as in captivity. I have reached out to the reporter to see if I can get some further information on Quin. Strange that we should be just getting a report now.
