March 31, 2021 - Scarborough - Yellow Pages

Marion Nash Reports:

We got a call from Paul at security at the Milner ( Yellow Pages ) site. A peregrine was found dead on site. A white feather dust mark on the window along with urine marks the spot where it hit one of the windows. Mark went out to retrieve the bird and found it to be banded C over 13 it’s Nino produced at the Bloor Islington Center in 2020. Mark saw no other Peregrine on site but will be going back tomorrow to see if Lyn is there perhaps on eggs.

Goodbye Jenna

March 30, 2021 - Toronto - Don Mills and Eglinton - Amexon

Cathy Kerr Reports:

Don Mills /Amexon update :  Big changes… And I am heartbroken to say that resident female Jenna has been replaced . As it happens in the peregrine world, a younger female has ousted her(next post is about her). I saw Jenna last Thursday at the nest. My last pictures of her. I drove by before work again yesterday morning, snapped some pics of them and headed to work. When I checked them, I had two banded peregrines. Jenna was unbanded.  I have watched her since this nest was discovered (my first year volunteering). She was fierce, beautiful, a great mom(her son Lucky resides at Bloor /Islington for one), and a wonderful mate to Chester. They are all wonderful but she was special to me. She will be missed.

March 28, 2021 - Windsor - Ambassador Bridge

Marion Nash Reports:

Today Paul Gosselin CPF`S Windsor fledge watch coordinator went to check on Juno`s new Windsor nest site and was able to get some photos of the pair. His mate is unbanded so we do not know where she was produced. They were seen flying and roosting together. We are so happy Juno has returned home to Windsor and just far enough from his hatch nest the Windsor Ambassador Bridge. Hopefully the pair will be successful in producing chicks this spring.
Thanks for sending the photos Paul!

Juno back in Ontario

March 28, 2021 - Windsor - Ambassador Bridge

Marion Nash Reports:

Over the last few days Peregrines have been spotted by one of CPF`s volunteers at the Walkers Rd. and Riverside Dr. Area in Windsor. He got a photo and the great news is that one of them is Juno produced at the Ambassador bridge in 2019. Hopefully, the pair is successful and produces offspring this year. We have not been able to confirm where the nest is yet there is still some searching and fieldwork to do. Stay tuned for further updates.
