Marion Nash Reports:
There were 5 eggs laid but one went missing and now 1 hatched for sure.
Good Afternoon,
At 2:27 pm today one egg hatched. She is guarding them closely so I cannot tell if anymore are hatched. I am going for the day and will check on them tomorrow.
Thank you,
TAMMI FRETZ

I thought I would send you a quick message. Raptorette and Peenie got off to a late start but they have at least 2 eggs. I believe they were laid about 4/19/20. I have not been back up to check and see if there is more trying to give them some space. Not a bad start for such a young lady. She is molting and getting rid of some of that brown plumage. Hopefully we will know more in a couple of weeks
Looks like a lot of good things happening up in your area.
Take Care,
Jeff

May 06, 2020 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre
Marion Nash Reports:
The female is unbanded and there was no sign of the male when Mark was there. The chicks are about 1 week old and we are planning on banding them on May 19th. It will not be a public banding and will be done in the mechanical room. This is an opportunity for our supporters and our web site followers and FaceBook friends to submit names for the chicks. I will go through all the names and pick ones we have not used yet and those will go into a hat and be drawn. please send names to me at raptor4@peregrine-foundation.ca. Use name the chicks Sheraton in the subject line.
The Camera was checked and we found the power was off. We turned everything back on but no image was captured. We think the internet line is down so when we get a chance to talk to the management we will see if the line was turned off or if we need a tech to have a look.

Cathy Kerr Reports:
I can finally confirm at least 3 hatches for Quest and Mystery!! It was a warm day and Quest was too hot in the nest box, so she hung out on the edge, allowing me to get some pictures of the box. I was quite far away but you can see the little bobbleheads at the back of the nest box. The first picture is of Mystery with the babies, all the rest are of Quest.

May 04, 2020 - Greater Toronto - Private Residential 1
Marion Nash Reports:
Etobicoke Condo now has 3 hatchlings and 1 egg to go.
As in the past we are not publishing the address at the request of building management. This being a private residence they do not want to attract bird watchers and photographers.

Cathy Kerr Reports:
DON MILLS/AMEXON(ICICI) UPDATE: WE HAVE A HATCH!! Three actually!! With one egg still unhatched..may have 4 but we won’t know until banding(fingers crossed) as we won’t be going up to check again as we don’t want to disturb our little family!!
They are nesting on the other building this year, as work was going to be done on 250. The great management there informed Mark & Marion early January(I believe) that the air conditioning unit on the roof of the building needed to be replaced and wanted to know how to protect the peregrines and the workers. It was decided the best thing was to block the nest ledges on the building and move the nest tray over to 150. Now, the first two years that Jenna was here, she nested on 150, then moved over to the other building. So we (and I mean Mark and John lol) moved the nest tray over to the original nest ledge on 150, this was the first week of March. John had just pulled his ropes over and onto the roof, when not 5 minutes later, they heard echuping and peeked over to see both adults on the ledge!! Good sign! So Mark held his phone over the edge(brave man) and took a couple of pics. And got a great pic of Jenna IN THE NEST TRAY!! Great sign!! After that I saw them coming and going from that ledge and then lots of mating! Then I saw exchanges and knew we had an egg at least!
Now this rooftop is not the same as 250. No 9 foot retaining wall here. Just 1 foot. Gulp. But that wasn’t going to stop me. And as my son still lives with us(still in university lol), no social distancing problem here, up we went. I really was getting used to it. But we only needed 3 trips(I counted the days so as not to go too early, less trips ). And today’s trip we were rewarded!! Mom flew up immediately when Justin got up the ladder, she had not done that before…when I got my head up and saw her there, I booted it. Got my camera out, got Jenna(she looked so cool) and then hurried to snap off a few pics of the nest tray…and was thrilled to see a pile of white! Babies!! Guess they like the nest tray(first year used from beginning)…Can’t wait til fledge watch!!! Sorry for the long story…Stay safe everyone. Cathy

Thanks to Kyle at security for keeping an eye on the nest at Canada Square for us. We now have a second hatched egg and I an trying to plan a banding date. This site does not require a swing stage so we are hopeful.
