I am happy to report that there are 4 eggs at the CTV Tower nest in Kitchener. Although the nest webcam image is not being uploaded live on the CTV web site at this time due to space allocation for COVID updates and news they are working on a protocol that would allow them to try to grab a few minutes of each day and post it online. This will allow us to grab images and post them here for you and will also allow us to plan a banding of the chicks based on their hatch date if this will be at all possible.
Desmond saw two Peregrines on the ground locked together in battle. He did not want to see either or both killed so he walked up to them and broke up the fight. not sure who would have been the victor or if the nest sight battle will continue but he will be watching and keeping us posted.
here are the 2 after the fight.
Morning,
Somewhere between Thursday Apr 9 and this morning, (and going by trend I would say Saturday Morning) a fifth egg was laid. Not sure if this is the norm or if this is rare.
Thank you,

Kyle from security was able to check on Haven for us and snapped a shot of her with 4 eggs.
Paul reports that the eggs which were previously reported have disappeared today. It is not known what happened but it is possible that Daisy recognized they were not viable for some reason.
Paul also noted that Daisy and Victor seem to spending more time on the other side of the bridge, perhaps intending to relocate their nest to the southern face of the bridge again.
Paul has shared a few photos from today’s visit to the nest site.
More great news from around the continent about our peregrine alumni from Canada.
Louise, hatched in 2016 at the Canada Square nest site to Haven and Malik, remains the resident female at the Rockford site in Illinois! I have to say, her beau is pretty handsome!!! A male name Lil Kool from Wisconsin. For those of you who keep track of these things, which we do here at CPF, Louise is the grand daughter of our most famous pair of peregrines in all of Ontario; Erin and Windwhistler. This pair reigned at 18 King St E for well over a decade and their young have been establishing sites and repopulating our skies in Ontario and far beyond. So proud of our girl. Go Louise!!!!
