May 16, 2015 - Etobicoke - William Osler
Bruce Massey Reports:
I stopped by at William Osler for a site check as Hurricane and Chessie were due for a hatch. I went up with security to check the monitor in the mechanical room and I got lucky. A shift of position by the female revealed the first fluffy chick under her wing. I had only one in view so this could be the first. Congratulations to William Osler!

This morning we noticed that there was only 1 egg in the scrape. I assume the other one was consumed.

Very excited to report that it would appear that Ossie and Lily have had their first hatch as a pair down at the Hamilton Sheraton hotel! Congratulations Hamilton and Ossie and Lily!
That being said, given the date and the age of the this first hatchling, the optimum banding time frames will be between June 2nd and June 12th.
Stay tuned for more news…..

Tracy Simpson Reports:
We have been watching Rhea Mae closely as her posture over the eggs had changed the day before yesterday indicating activity beneath her. This morning you can clearly see the discarded shell from her first hatch in the camera view. Congratulations Toronto Sheraton!!!

The plan is to meet once again at Harlequin’s head office (across the road from the nest site) who has graciously agreed again this year to host the banding event in their large conference room - (named Chapters one and two) at for a 2:30pm set up, Meet and greet at 3:00 pm, and banding to take place at 3:30pm.
We will be at the MEC nest site in Mississauga earlier this same day doing the MEC banding.
Hope to see you all!
Your are once again invited to attend and looking forward to seeing you all out to support your peregrines!

May 14, 2015 - Toronto - King Street
Linda Woods Reports:
I walked by earlier and did not see Stormin or Erin. At 7p.m. an adult flew out of the west facing ledges and over to the roof of 100 Yonge St and out of view. Could not get a sight line on this roof top. Back to the corner of Adelaide and Yonge and found Stormin on the east side of a near by roof top . Erin is not in view. I guess she’s sitting somewhere near by, but just out of our view.

May 14, 2015 - Toronto - Mount Sinai Hospital
Linda Woods Reports:
In all the years I’ve been watching Toronto Peregrines, I’ve never seen them make a direct and successful hunt for prey, until today.
Stopped by Mt.Sinai to check on Hunter and Seven. All was quiet until around 11:30a.m. Hunter flew east along Gerrard Street towards Bay St. He made contact with a small bird, probably a sparrow. Snatched it out of the air and carried it back towards Mt. Sinai. Seven then appeared on the 6th ledge and flew towards the area where Hunter had the prey. She grabbed the food and headed to the south area Mt. Sinai. Hunter then flew into the 6th ledge and disappeared out of my view.
Incubation continues for the single egg.
