Just got a report from the banding office that Quin a male produced at the Toronto Sheraton Hotel in 2019 was reported in Rochester August of 2019 and is also being reported as in captivity. I have reached out to the reporter to see if I can get some further information on Quin. Strange that we should be just getting a report now.

Velcro in Michigan

Got a report from our bander Mark Heaton that Velcro a female produced in 2016 at the Yellow Pages nest site in Scarborough has been seen in Royal Oak, Oakland County Michigan on March 12th 2021.

band confirmation at 18 King-Ontario produced male

We have been watching the pair at 18 King for the last year and have seen them on the King Edward Hotel as well. We expect they nested on the hotel but could not confirm for sure. I just got a report from the banding office of a bird sighted on January 17th at 18 King and the band number belongs to Becquerel a male who was produced at the OPG Pickering Nuclear plant in 2017. Could this be one of the birds we have been watching or is he new to the site? Either way I am glad to hear he is back in Ontario.

Tracy said, That is good news. By all rights that bird should not be alive. She had collided with the buildings at Mac several times and the last time she struck a building she hit it head on and full steam ahead. Bruce thought for sure she was done. After she hit the building though she immediately recovered from it midflight or should I say mid fall. She ended up landing somewhere decent and from that point on she proved us all wrong and became a superstar. Nice to hear she’s been seen.
