Hamilton news :
We have been contacted by the watch group in Hamilton that they have 3 hatches! First one hatched on Friday and the other 2 on Saturday. There is a fourth egg, but it was not hatched as of yesterday.

Remember the story about a month ago about Louise (2016 Canada Square hatch) down in Rockford Illinois, weathering a snowstorm with 4 eggs under her, then laying a 5th? Well Kathy Majich sent this report from that site :
FOURTH HATCH!
Early this morning a fourth egg hatched. We’ve been waiting for some light to grab the photo.
Look at those four little heads!

April 25, 2024 - Brampton - Courthouse

Brampton Courthouse, I have now watched 3 incubation exchanges in the last 5 days last night included M bringing her a meal which she took off with and he went in down and out of sight. I estimate incubation started about Apr 14. the female in downtown I now have confirmed is a juvenile and still being seen so he did not drive her away, she is only 5K from the Courthouse.

We have 4 hatches now at Bloor/Islington in Etobicoke! We couldn’t confirm until 4 little heads were seen thanks to Kathy Majich keeping watch on the webcam. Kathy believes #3 was on Friday, followed by #4 sometime on the weekend. Cheers, Lucie

Congrats to Canuck and Bellatrix on a hatch(es?)!! I’ve been checking for the past couple of days and knew that it was close, so I headed over today (I have a cold and thought might as well sit in my car watching lol). I arrived and Canuck brought in food, I’m thinking yayyy I’ll see a feeding right away, but nope. Bellatrix said nicely but firmly, no thanks and he left. Three hours later, Canuck came(3rd time), no food but up popped that sweet little head! So one for sure, but as Marion always says, it’s like wack-a-mole lol. Could be seeing 2. Well, time will tell and I’ll be watching!
It was great to see Bob too as he stopped by to check.

April 16, 2024 - Brampton - Courthouse

BRAMPTON UPDATE : Toivo reports :
Brampton has a soap opera going on. Mid March I thought there may be eggs down, then both Falcons were visible away from the ledge. Last week I saw mating 5 times and have now confirmed that it is a different Male , a banded bird and darker back and different facial patterns from the last pic I posted who was un banded. We also have a large dark female hanging out 5K away on a bldg in Downtown Brampton. They can see each other and Thurs at dusk I saw a 20 min air battle downtown, a male attacking that female.
This picture is the new banded male on the courthouse and currently only seeing the female briefly again. I suspect and hope we may have eggs down on the Courthouse.

News from Vinemount Quarry in Stoney Creek .. spotted earlier this week, it’s ATHENA, the resident female since at least 2013! The photographer gave permission to use the photo and does not wish any credit. ATHENA (23/X) is a 2010 hatch from William Osler Hospital in Etobicoke. She’s the daughter of O’CONNOR and HURRICANE and granddaughter of ERIN. We hope to get an ID on the male too. In 2017, when we banded there, it was CRAIG (17/Y), a 2010 hatch from Mississauga Executive Centre. Cheers, Lucie
