Sadly, I have bad news about the status of the Scarborough nest site as of my visit this afternoon.. Again a big thank you to Petra security for spending the time with me today as we meticulously checked all eight ledges for any evidence of a hatch.
The first clutch of three eggs still remains, still abandoned, and now quite sun-bleached almost pure white and look more like white chicken eggs. And to be very clear,, there are NO chickens here!
As we walked around the entire upper elevation of the building to check each of the eight ledge pockets, there was absolutely no visible evidence or sign of any “recent” peregrine activity,, all lacking the typical body-part remains of left-over prey or any fresh blood staining on any of the upper leading retaining wall ledges or ledge pockets. This along with the fact that there was no evidence of any fresh white-wash tells a story in itself! A strong indication that there has been no “recent” peregrine activity.
As we finally worked our way around to the ledge that has the more recent “second clutch of 4 eggs”, we quite expected to be greeted by at least the resident adult female, (which has been Linn from Rochester NY all these years), who was clearly identified during my last visit via her leg bands,, but sadly did not happen. Never have I NOT been “greeted” by Linn as she is usually VERY AGRESSIVE and always “IN MY FACE” during my visits over the years. Linn is NOT shy to express her displeasure,, and over the past years has become a “FULL CONTACT” gal!!!
Unfortunately, the 4 eggs in this second clutch of eggs remain unattended and have not hatched as of this date. They now remain more than 36 days old it would appear that they too have now been abandoned.
After more than 35 minutes on-site, we did not see a single peregrine! 
I will return one last time next week to re-confirm my observations and conclusion.

July 20, 2020 - Toronto - Don Mills and Eglinton - Amexon

Spot check : Toronto /Don Mills /Amexon : I was delighted to see all three juvies, first I saw all three having their afternoon siesta, from my office, on the sign at 250. Then I dropped by after work and found all three on the nest ledge! Rey had food and plucked and ate it while the other two watched. They all look great, nice to see all three hanging out together ❤️

July 13, 2020 - Toronto - Don Mills

Spot check: Toronto/Don Mills/Old Harlequin: A little late posting these pics but I was by last week and saw both our juvies and parents, all doing great! Canuck was on his corner(
) when I got there. Food was brought in and Canuck got the goods! But before long, in swooped Seven and the chase was on! Canuck took it screaming from the roof of 235 over and around to the back of 240(Seven disappeared over the forest). He was only two over from the workmen working on the building He was not happy(the workmen enjoyed the show though!!) and didn’t stay long with his food and headed to the roof. But Seven didn’t leave him alone for long and chased him over to the back of the nest building. He landed but Seven chased him off. I watched this all–heart in mouth at times–such low chases, around buildings through hydro wires, screaming the whole time lol. But all was good and ended with two very pooped juvies. Fun to watch!

July 17, 2020 - Windsor - Ambassador Bridge

DAY 4 7 14-20Morning shift with Bob Hall Brooks.Was pretty melow today,mom was on watchful eye.Was swooped at when Rockette was exercising,guess I was to close.lol.Dad flew in with breakfast mom went and chased him.Mom brought food back later.
7/15/2020 A very slow night from 5:30 pm till 8 pm nothing going on at all just a bit of walking around a few flaps no food brought in daisy and victor in site Rockette resting in the middle of the north side hope the storm early morning don’t bother her.
DAY 6 7-16-20 Rainy day,had to set up in my Falcon watch station..lol.So mom flew in and fed Rockette at 8am.Than Rockette started callin out at 11am for more to eat.Daisy prepared lunch ,than teased Rockette on the ledge ,and went and dropped it in the big opening.Than started yelling at her.Rockette just sauntered on over and than realized her dinner was there.Was by myself today.
July 16-2020 8:20 pm Another easy night alot of flapping Rockette has been sitting on the light has not moved no one has come in yet to feed her.

July 15, 2020 - Toronto - Canada Square Building - Yonge and Eglinton

As seems to be the way for me, I am woefully behind on posting. There has been no shortage of both work and challenges for me so first let me apologize for not sharing this amazing news sooner. Our dear Raptorette who hatched last year at Canada Square and has since turned up in Anderson, Indiana has successfully raised her first family with her mate Peenie!! Her two chicks were banded last month, a boy named Blaze and a female named Freya. Both chicks were healthy and feisty and we want to thank Jeff Timmons for his continued support and information on our Raptorette and her success in Indiana not to mention the fantastic photos. Thanks so much Jeff!!!

July 12, 2020 - Windsor - Ambassador Bridge

5am this morning when I had woke up I had 4 missed calls and few messages saying Rockette had come down to the ground again and was found walking around at 10pm at night I showd up at the bridge this morning at 5:45 am finding Rockette on the ground in one of the parking lots I sat with her for a bit till Wayne came then I called Bob he showed up around 7:30 I had already put Rockette in the cage let her relax a bit then put her up on the wall in the middle lower level she was fed 2 times in the morning be for 11am she then rested most of the day Victor and Daisy sat with her for a few hours then Daisy took off Victor went after her and I happen to turn around seeing Daisy sitting in a tree she was getting dive bombed by blue jays Rockette started walking around and flapping a lot Daisy came in with more food around 7:15pm then Rockette went in her corner and stayed there I left at 8:50pm. July 10, 2020 - Windsor - Ambassador Bridge

I will try and explain as best as I can. yesterday morning Kim from the bridge crew had message me on Facebook saying that a security guard from the bridge had just pulled up to the light by the bridge and at that time the young falcon im guessing had fell off the ledge of the wall came down to the ground on the road he had got out and walked it over to the grassy area. Soon after an officer had come along and stoped to watch the falcon. Constable Bouverat was the officer that took care of it and sat with her till kim had come to the bridge with a rescue cage. kim took it to her house and kept it in a cool area . Because she had message me about it saying that it had come to the ground I called Ellen from Erie Wildlife. Ellen told me to tell kim to being it on over so she did. Ellen looked it over and could not see anything wrong with the bird she then had it sent to a vet in downtown Windsor to get x-rays to be on the safe side. Good news is the x-rays came back clear, nothing wrong with the bird just a few roughed up feathers. later in the day it had been returned to Erie Wildlife and it stayed there for the night. Ellen told me that she had gave Rockette ( named by the officer who watched over her) a mouse to eat and she ate it. I had called up Kim to arrange to get the falcon back to the bridge witch happen today Friday July 10th between 2pm and 3pm kim took the bird up cleaned the area up and kinda blocked off the edge of the wall as the nest box would not fit in that area. Dad Victor was on the pipe across from the nest area watching the whole thing but never moved. Mom Daisy came in later about 10 mins after and victor took off behind the bridge. There was a lot of flapping and vocalizing from the Rockett. Victor nor Daisy came over to check it out yet but all went well. A bit thank you to officer Bouverat, Kim and Ellen for all that they have done to help out. Rockette was banded by Bob Hall-Brooks while she was at Earie Wildlife she weighed 800 grams. Here’s hoping Rockette’s fledge goes well and she has learned that the ground is not the place to be! Based on the age and amount of down she still has it will be a few more days before she is ready to take the first flight.

SPOT CHECK: Toronto/Don Mills/Amexon: Everyone is doing great here! I have been seeing them whenever I am in to work, usually during their afternoon siesta-and Monday I was lucky enough to see them before and after work. All three were in sight and I was able to ID all. Once it cools off a bit(hopefully soon!) I would like to go after dinner and see some flying but for now, just knowing they are all ok is fine with me! Stay cool, stay safe everyone…Cathy

July 06, 2020 - Toronto - Don Mills

SPOT CHECK: TORONTO/DON MILLS: I finally got a chance to check up on our family since June 25(I have included pictures from then as well). I only saw one juvie(may have been two but only saw one at a time) last night, no parents. They showed up around 9:10 pm, a little late for pictures but I did manage to snap a couple, I think I see a hint of white, so I am thinking I saw Seven! But I had reports from Ramesh, from security and a couple of gentlemen that were looking for them, that both juvies and one adult were seen on Sunday. So all good here! Just wayyyy too hot
