The first picture is of your beautiful Rhea Mae and her 3 eggs as of 4/7. The second picture is from Rochester, NY where Rhea Mae’s mom Mariah, is in the nest box and Rhea Mae’s dad, Kaver is on the camera. The third picture shows Mariah’s 4 eggs as of 4/7 in her next box. How many more will they both lay????
How wonderful to be able to watch both of these birds. It’s nice for us in Rochester to be able to witness one of Mariah’s babies have a family of her own.
Many thanks to the people who have made this possible!

Finally I timed it right and captured this image from the webcam at King St.
Photo: Here the male has arrived to relieve the female from incubating.
I promised myself this time that I would arrive at the “crack of dawn” in order to witness a “changing of the guards”. Well at 08:00 it has to be “the crack of dawn” somewhere. As I waited the adult was restless on the eggs and I was hopeful that a handing off of the nest was close to happening.
It did about an hour later and at approx 09:15 Rhea Mae appeared on the ledge! and Tiago was more than happy to get up, shake himself off, and leave.
Rhea Mae didn’t leave anytime before she settled on the eggs herself. Finally got a photo of the eggs.

While I have been to the Sheraton and waited for Rhea Mae to come off the nest tray, that hasn’t happened so far. But with the camera I have captured this shot of EGG NUMBER THREE! I am hoping to capture a better image on Sunday.

While Mark and I tried to re-establish communication with the Osler camera, Tiago took his turn at keeping the single egg warm, while Rhea Mae preened on the “Exchange Tower” south of the Sheraton. A second egg was expected Sunday, but didn’t appear. This being Rhea Mae’s first clutch, she may just be “testing the waters”. It’s still early in the season, so there is still lots of time.
Rhea Mae stayed at the nest box all night, standing watch over her first egg. Here is a photo taken this morning around 6:15 p.m.
Early this morning, the adult pair of peregrines – (Tiago & Rhea Mae), delivered this first egg at the Sheraton Centre Hotel!
This is the adult female’s first egg ever!
Rhea Mae was hatched in Rochester, New York in 2006.
