!!! No sighting of Tristan.

June 08, 2012 - Toronto - King Street

Linda Woods Reports:

I arrived on the King St site after checking in on the Sheraton site. Multiple walkarounds trying to get an angle of every possible corner of the buildings around 18 King St gave no indication as to where Tristan could be. The adults were staying in the direct area, so Tristan could not have moved out of their sight.  Paul and I scoured the area. Adults seemed to be paying attention to 33 Victoria street. This building takes up most of the block and has multiple address.  A food drop was made around 8:45 pm without and vocalizing from the fledgling. One adult was on the south east corner above the louvers of 33 Victoria Street.  Paul and I closed the watch around 8:50 p.m. Shortly after Mark arrived and saw both adults on the south east corner above the louvered area of 33 Victoria.  I think this is where Tristan could be. There is a cooling tower behind the louvered area and although there is a screen covering this area. We are not sure if the screen covers the entire cooling tower.  Tomorrow we will be back early in the morning and if still no sighting of Tristan, we will try for a better view from a different angle.

8 p.m. feed

- Toronto - King Street

Linda Woods Reports:

This evening after the rain, I noticed Erin cleaning prey again on the railing of # 1 Toronto Street.  I checked the camera just in time to see the food delivered. All four King St juvies enjoying a bite to eat. Hopefully that will settled them for the night.

Ely’s Chicks Banded and Named in Cleveland

June 01, 2012 - Toronto - King Street

Frank Butson Reports:

King St alumnist Ely had 4 chicks. She had 4 boys all banded Black/Green.
Cleveland Clinic Names:

40/R (male) Monte
41/R (male) Piedi
42/R (male) Bunts
49/R (male) Kale

We love hearing about falcons we have banded and helped at fledge time. Without them being banded we could never follow their progress. These chicks are “grand-chicks” to Windwhistler and Erin.

!!! Calling All Fledge Watchers

June 01, 2012 - Toronto - King Street

Frank Butson Reports:

This is a call to YOU! The Canadian Peregrine Foundation will have several Fledge Watches beginning at sites all over Metro Toronto, from Scarborough to Etobicoke.

If you have a few hours to spare, please join us to help this threatened species. All over our city, young Peregrine Falcons will be learning to fly. Often on their early flights they come to the ground, usually uninjured. As part of a fledge watch team you will be there to help rescue the newly flying falcon and help the species survive. No experience is needed, a senior watcher will be on site or a phonecall away. All you need is an old towel for a rescue if needed, be able to accept direction and a willingness to help.

King St  Fledge Watch will begine soon! Come help us to help Windwhistler’s legacy to grow!

Please contact CPF head office at 416-481-1233 or email us at frank@peregrine-foundation.ca if you’d like to help.
