July 31, 2008 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre
CPF Volunteer Reports:
Scanning west from the 61st floor of First Canadian Place, I spotted a juvenile on the NW corner of Royal Trust Tower. As I focussed the scope, she stretched her legs and showed of her yellow and red tape - Belle! I watched her for many minutes - she truly is a beautiful bird. After approximately 10 minutes she took of NW, soaring and circling. Suddenly she appeared to start a stoop towards the south - and then it became a game - one of her siblings had arrived on the scene. I watched for the next five minutes as they chased each other, flying high and low and fast. I finally lost sight of them near Metro Hall. Whay a lovely end to the afternoon.

July 24, 2008 - Burlington - Lift Bridge
Sue McCreadie Reports:
It was just amazing yesterday. We had storms all around us first coming in from the lake and then from the bay. Between 3 and 4 pm, the girls headed out to the end of the pier on the lake side. Barry and Bill rushed out to see the goings on. The girls were diving and chasing anything that came into their view, Gulls, Cormorants and Turns. (Photo - Leave me Alone!). They were flying just inches above the water (Photo - What do we do if we see a fish?), landing on the fence around the weather station (Photo - Nebesny on Weather Station) and on the sea wall just feet away from Bill (Photo - “Nellie on the Wall”). Things quieted down so we headed back to home base. Somewhere between 4 and 5, Mom came in from the Skyway with a pigeon and Nellie grabbed the drop. She flew over to the bridge, back under the skyway and back to try and land on the bridge. The burden became too much and she ended up on the ground, on the bay side of the Burlington pier. Nebesny landed in and stood watch well Nellie struggled with the still flopping pigeon. Eventually, she went over and helped her sister and at one point, they were both standing atop it and were sharing like good sisters (Photos - “Chew your Food” and “Feeding Time”). The rain came in so we left for home for a short break. We returned again around 6 pm and they were still very active. Dad was about yesterday (looking quite well) and he brought in two small meals, delivering both to the girls.

Linda Woods Reports:
Waling through Nathan Phillips square, I heard the distinct sound of a juvenile screaming. Both adult and juvie were in the area of 390 Bay St. and flew towards the south side of the Sheraton and out of my view.
Window washers are out on the north side of the Hotel. The peregrines don’t appear to be bothered by the workers.

July 23, 2008 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre
Linda Woods Reports:
While walking south on University Ave at Edward St, I stopped to take a look at the area, I didn’t wait very long, when a peregrine came into view from the west side of Mt.Sinai Hospital flying south towards the east side of University. It landed on the north- west corner of the grey building on the north east corner of Edward and University. Peregrines have been seen on the same corner and building in years past. Not sure if it is a Sheraton bird or one from the Four Seasons.

July 22, 2008 - Etobicoke - Sun Life Centre
CPF Volunteer Reports:
After a few reports of not much activity in the area,it was good to hear from Kathy that Screech and Sunny were about and busy. A reminder that in wicked hot and humid weather,Peregrines are much as we are and not interested in doing much in the heat of the day. It isnt unusual not to see much during these times. Keep checking and U should see some action once things cool down. Thanks to Kathy for continuing to check on Screech,Sunny,Perry and their parents.

CPF Volunteer Reports:
How great was it to come out of the subway this morning and the first thing I heard was the sound of falcons screeching and there they were!!! 2 of them anyway. Ran upstairs and got my binoculars just to double check. Screech (can tell by her size) caught a pigeon and flew to the ADP sign and proceeded to have breakfast. Juvie 2 which may have been Sunny - hard to tell because Screech turned her back on me and all I could see was her tail end as she ate - tried to persuade her to share but no go! Juvie 2 then decided to get her own breakfast and flew up the next building and dive bombed 2 pigeons, 1 flew east, the other west with Juvie 2 on her tail literally..you could see the feathers flying!! Mom was observed on the web cam preening. There was no sign of dad or Perry this morning during my observations.

Linda Woods Reports:
I was in the Church and Esplanade area near the Keg around 5p.m. and heard a juvie calling. Although it was loud, I did not see any peregrines in flight or sitting in the area. Later in the evening, like clock work, a peregrine is seen on the spire of St. James, and an adult on Dundee Place around 8:30p.m.
