Approaching the Four Seasons along Scollard from Bay at 2:10pm, I spotted Hunter on the ledge of the west-most false balcony on the north side of the the hotel. This is the location of the first failed nest. He immediately dropped down to the surface of the
balcony, out of view. At the same time, Ranger was seen heading towards the east. She returned to the ledge of the east-most balcony on the north side at 2:20pm. At 2:30pm, Hunter appeared on his balcony briefly, flew over and mated with Ranger, then went back to his previous location and dropped down to the floor of the balcony.

A great day indeed for all involved. The three young hatchlings were banded this morning much to the delight of everyone in attendance that gathered in the east tower lobby of the Sun Life Financial Centre. Three very healthy chicks got their new jewelry and were back on the ledge with their parents in record time - less than 40 minutes! With many thanks to all of the staff at Oxford Properties, security, maintenance, the Ministry of Natural Resources, SkyReach and All Trans Financial the day turned out to be a great success. The three young hatchlings, one male named Perry, and two females named Sunny and Screech. Many thanks to the CPF volunteers that came out to help organize and to Marion for attending the window washers swing stage to extract the chicks from the nest ledge. A huge thank you to Mathew Rossi for taking the photos of the Etobicoke Sun LIfe banding. More photos will be posted in Etobicoke Sun Life photo gallery.
Stay tuned…
Today is the banding of the young at the site. As of 8am Mom is noticed looking up, likely at the swing stage being prepared for today’s activities. Workers will be gathering the young at 10AM to take for banding, images from today’s events will posted in the near future.

This is the second day the little ones are out of the nesting tray and free to wonder the nest ledge. I have been to the camera and reset it, but I see it is once again,”frozen” I’ll try again tomorrow afternoon. I don’t know what the problem is.
All three did wander about the tray area, and Rhea Mae was very motherly and brooded one under her, while the other two looked on.

While checking on the nest this morning, around 09:30, I arrived just in time for a quick mid morning snack. Everything appears to be just fine.
This evening, a quick look at the webcam, and although it seems to be “frozen” one can clearly see that the chicks have made a goup effort and moved out of the nest tray.
Photos from this morning feed will appear on my next posting. ( camera battery needs a charge)
This photo taken after the morning food delivery. They all tucked into one and other, but this one had to make one last look around before falling asleep.

This photo taken Saturday morning, the two share a little food, while the one on the bottom sleeps through the whole feeding, only waking as Rhea Mae leaves the nest tray.
