Chicks on the move, but still on the ledge!

May 31, 2008 - Etobicoke - Sun Life Centre

Mark Nash Reports:

Just a quickly update to let everyone know that all is well on the nest ledge with Perry, Sunny, and Screech. As you can see, the three hatchlings are currently not on the camera view, as they have moved down further on the nest ledge. They have been spotted this moring at the other end of the nest ledge spending their time in the shade under the camera to avoid the hot sun light. The live video feed is not currently on as there is nothing currently on view. The updated snap-shot image updates are still operating and producing a new snap-shot image every 30 seconds as always, and is never turned off. These snap shot images updates are available 365 days a year - all year long - (failing any computer challenges).

Sleepy

May 30, 2008 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre

Linda Woods Reports:

As I attempted to reset the nest tray camera, I found all three piled under the camera. Two were preening and the other one directly under the camera, was asleep.

May 29, 2008 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre

Linda Woods Reports:

Today around noon, I found all 3 exploring the ledge. Rhea dropped in for a small feed. One chick was not interested, another had a bite or two and the third had leftovers. Tiago was seen sitting on the north-west corner of 130 Adelaide St.

Break on through to the other side!

May 29, 2008 - Etobicoke - Sun Life Centre

Mathew Rossi Reports:

For the first time I can recall, the young have come to the camera side of the nest box. Safe to say we can expect them roaming around the ledge a lot more now, hopefully they don’t stress web cam viewers out too much with their floppy travels.

!!! A new place

May 28, 2008 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre

Linda Woods Reports:

As Carol from Rochester put it, ” Look OUT! Peregrines on the loose”
This morning, I found the trio in a pile behind the Osler camera at the east end of the ledge. Poor Jan has no sight line on them now that they have found this hiding area. They do wander out into the open for meals.
Rhea has also taken up a new place to keep an eye on them.

Wing Feathers Growing In

May 28, 2008 - Toronto - King Street

CPF Volunteer Reports:

In the photo below you can clearly see the primary wing feathers growing in. The chicks are also using the pillar as a sunblock - an action used by adult Peregrines to prevent the chicks from overheating.
