!!! Fledge Watch starts June 7th !!!

It will be another exciting fledge watch this year as we have 4 healthy and active chicks that are rapidly getting ready for flight! Today, at 6:00 p.m. all chicks had another healthy feed of gull, with lots of sibling rivalry for the tasty bites. The nest box is littered with many leftover pieces of gull which seems to be the favourite food of this family. Mystery flew off shortly after feeding the chicks and left a good part of the fresh gull for the chicks to peck at. Their energy levels went up right away. They hopped around the nest box, jumping on top of some of the old gull pieces and flapping their wings. They are all spending much more time on the balcony as their feathers continue to grow in.
The official start of the 2016 Fledge Watch is Tuesday, June 7th. We will be holding a training session at 7:00 p.m. in the CTV parking lot across from the Grand River Hospital parking garage, weather permitting. You can access the CTV parking lot via King Street travelling north, it’s only one way at this time. You can access King Street via Agnes Street by King Edward School.
