Day Two of the MEC Watch; We’re Getting Closer!
June 05, 2015 - Mississauga - Executive Centre
Tracy Simpson Reports:
Well. This morning when Katherine arrived early before work she was greeted to a chorus of madness at the nest box. Both Renegade and Midnight were winding the girls up and creating some happy havoc. Renegade was on one corner of the nest ledge and Midnight on the other teasing the girls (or at least trying to) out of the window well play fort and into the air. Adrianna had a huge hissy fit and was screaming at Midnight for breakfast. While she had their attention, Midnight demonstrated how to jump the gap and went north to the adjacent nest ledge. All that did was make Adrianna angrier and louder! All three girls were up and down out of the well for the better part of the day and flapping up a storm. The girls gave Margaret much less of a hard time throughout the day preferring to preen and nap for the most part. Bruce and Grace reported similar behavior from the chicks and the parents were much less eager to tease them out. The last meal of the day came in at around 7pm and Winston closed the watch with three flumpy girls doing not much of anything. The morning tomorrow will be cool with a calm breeze up until the rain is predicted to move in at around noon and I expect that the morning wind up will be a wild one! Thank you everyone who watched over the MEC girls today, a great job everyone!!!
