Looking back on our site reports we’ve noticed that Windsor was born and banded in 2010 with Bridgette and Lancer.
The Banding Day for the three chicks this year is Friday, May 31, 2013.
Photos and event up-date to follow. Stay tuned….
Looks like someone got caught in the rain.
Just a friendly reminder that Friday, May 31, 2013 is the Banding Day for our three chicks here in Windsor. We received the notice yesterday. Thanks to Art at Sure Seal Roofing we have a tent arranged. Hope to see everyone there with names for males and females. Gwen & Dennis
Bill and I arrived at the Lift Bridge just in time to catch Cirrus delivering a beautiful white pigeon to the nest box. The kids gathered around to be fed. With the scope you could see 2 of them fighting over a piece of lunch, one on one end and one on the other end. A tug of war ensued. There is some wing flapping going on, but not as much as I would expect at this time.
As per my previous post, we are still awaiting approval from PWGSC to post the photos of the little ones on banding day.
This just in!!!!!!!!!!
Windsor was identified by Christine Becher of the MDNR and volunteer, Barb Baldinger on a skyscraper in Detroit, alive and well.
A huge thank you to Barb and Christine for re-sighting and identifying little Windsor!! Windsor was one of three chicks hatched in 2011 at the Ambassador Bridge to Freddie and Voltaire. It is always exciting to hear of Ontario offspring doing well and we so appreciate the sighting report. Thanks Christine and Barb!!
The family of four that you can now visit with via the new web cameras at Etobicoke Sun Life will be banded at our 17th annual peregrine falcon banding ceremony at 3250 Bloor Street West this Wednesday May 29th. The ceremony is set to begin at 3:00pm in the lobby of the east tower so come on out and meet the new family. We must also send out a huge thank you to all of the staff at Damar Security Systems and Sony for the incredible images we are now able to see of life on the ledge in Etobicoke. As a result of their camera support we were able to confirm 4 healthy chicks this morning for Jack and O’Connor and the live images of O’C sleeping on the camera housing are just awesome!! The chicks are quite mobile now and have slumped on down the ledge to be with Mommy bird (who can blame them!) but then waddle back to the tray for feedings. Nice to see them so mobile!! Congratulations Etobicoke Sun Life and we’ll see you all on Wednesday!!
Come one, come all to the Mississauga Executive Centre at 1 Robert Speck Parkway to witness the banding of Cass and Sante’s two healthy young chicks in the lobby of building one at 10:00am this Wednesday May 29th. We look very forward to seeing you there and we are so excited to see the resident pair have such a successful spring together. This is Cass’s first nesting season and what a mother she has been so far. Congratulations MEC and we’ll see you Wednesday!!!
For those tuning into the web cam today, the kids are all at the opposite end of the ledge hiding under the web cam so no worries. Mom is on top of the web cam perching there.
Dad is at his other site and they’ve just had their first hatch there, so congrats to Jack and TR Mom!
