Sunday Morning at William Osler

July 15, 2012 - Etobicoke - William Osler

Bruce Massey Reports:

Today I arrived at 6am and found the juvenile female on the north face of the building, an adult in the tower and the other adult on the southwest corner.  At first I couldn’t see the juvenile male and so I went scouting about and found him on the north side as well.  Food arrived shortly after my arrival and was taken in to the young female.  All quieted down for a while as the young ones took a nap.  At 12:30pm, as Tracy was pulling in, the adult male brought food in to the young and this time it was the male that was fed.  He swiped the food off of Dad and went running along the ledge to the south before his sister had a chance to figure out what was happening.  He pretty much had the whole meal to himself as the juvie female sought out Mom and screamed her displeasure at her.  Just before I left at 1:30pm, another small food package came in and again it was the juvenile male that grabbed it up.  There was a ferocious tug of war over the food but the young male is much faster than his big sister and much better coordinated.  He won the meal and the screaming of the female continued.  As I left, Tracy was perched by the berm with an adult in the tower and two screamy kids on the eastern ledge.
