!!! The Resident adult female has been identified!
June 17, 2010 - Toronto - King Street
Mark Nash Reports:
Hello all
Just a short note to let you know that we have been able to confirm the identity of the Resident adult female at the 18 king Street nest site. With thanks to Emma of the OMNR who was up in the swing stage extracting the young hatchlings from the ledge for the banding, she was able to snap some great shots of the resident adult female. Sadly, the resident adult male never came close enough to even get an eyeball of his bands,, (but he is banded) with a Black over Green band so she believes.
The adult female is non-other than the same female that produced at this site last year and dawns a Black over Red band,,, Black B over Red D,, (both are rotated 90 degrees to the left) as the photos indicate. She was named “Erin”, and was produced in 1998 at the Froedtert Malt nest site in Milwaukee Wisconsin USA. Erin also has one of the more un-usual purple / pinkish coloured USFW band,, (not silver). I have attached the photos.
This information confirms that she is a senior lady for sure at 12 years old!
The mystery still remains as to the “WHO” the resident male is this year????
Sincerely
Mark Nash
