The Day After…

May 27, 2009 - Etobicoke - Sun Life Centre

Kathy Reports:

…banding!  Yesterday was an exciting day for our family - I won’t spill too many details and leave that to Mark Nash to post all the good stuff!  I can tell you we have 2 boys and 1 girl!!

I kind of knew I was wrong about them being all girls when I saw them Monday morning after the weekend and discovered to my shock 2 very darker than expected eyases and 1 still looking like she should..white with black on her.  I am thrilled however in this case to have guessed wrong !  Angel has a reputation for producing ‘big girls’ the past few years and maybe 1 boy thrown in for good measure the odd time so it’s a pleasant surprise to see two healthy sized males this year!

Our ‘little’ girl still topped out at 989 grams..just a bit bigger than Screech from last year if memory serves me right!  This morning I spotted the 2 boys by the nestbox looking none the worse for the wear sporting their new ‘bling’!  Mom was on top of the building standing guard no doubt in case the evil intruders tried to come back.  She defended her chicks quite vigorously yesterdayto say the least!  I did notice a defiant pride in her stance this morning at having successfully driven us off :)
