April 29th

April 29, 2008 - Toronto - Four Seasons

Harry Crawford Reports:

At 8:25am, just before I left for work, Hunter was seen on the south-west corner of the CIBC building. When I returned to the area at 1:20pm, he was on the south side of the same building. At 2:20pm, he disappeared. Viewing the Four Seasons from theĀ  orth-east (Hazelton Ave. and Scollard), a female flew in from the east, circled the hotel just below the roof line, and then headed back to the east. She was carrying food the whole time. Just after she arrived, a male (Hunter) followed her in. He landed on the south-east corner of the building and eventually headed east after her. While heading back to Bay and Bloor, I spotted two turkey vultures heading north by north-west, just north of Bloor. They were circling higher and higher and were not challenged. These were likely the recently found Bloor and Sherbourne vultures. At 4:05pm, the adult male was back on the south side of the CIBC building, remaining until 5:25pm.

Harry Crawford Reports:

A female peregrine was on the west side of the CIBC building from 6:51 until 7:36am when she flew off to the west. Hunter took up the south-west corner of the building for a brief time at 7:55am. The second female was on the west side of the CIBC building from 8:25 until 11:05am. At 9:30am, Ranger was seen on the north side, second from the east balcony, on the Four Seasons. She took off towards the east at 10:10am. Hunter was on the south-west corner of the CIBC building from 11:08 until 11:20am. The second female was on the north-west corner from 11:40 until 12:05pm. Hunter was back on the north-west corner at 1:20pm and was seen on the south side, mid level at 3:27pm, feeding. The second female was on the west side of the CIBC building at 4:10pm and was gone by 5:03pm. At 4:35pm, two turkey vultures were circling the Yonge and Bloor area, probably from the Bloor and Sherbourne area.
