CPF Postmaster Reports:

(Wednesday) April 25, 2012 — (7:10 a.m.)
As I’m walking up Lyon Street towards the Delta Ottawa City Centre hotel I look up in time to see an adult coming from Albert Street. It flies high above the street and pauses in midair for a few seconds before heading back up Albert Street. When I reach the Constitution Square Buildings I find the falcon perched on the SW corner of the Place de Ville, Tower A building. After checking the surrounding building rooftops I cannot detect the presence of its mate.
Take care,

CPF Postmaster Reports:

(Wednesday) April 18, 2012 (7:10 a.m.-7:30 a.m.) It has been a busy morning on the Delta Ottawa City Centre hotel rooftop. As I’m walking up Lyon Street towards the hotel I observe Connor coming around the Constitution Square, Tower 1 building and land inside the SE section of the hotel rooftop. Breakfast has been served as strong vocalizing can be heard from above. As I reach the hotel I can still hear vocalizing. Ten minutes later Connor flies out with his breakfast and lands into the SW section of the rooftop facing Lyon Street. I cross the street to get a better view and observe small gray feathers floating in the air every time Connor takes a bite of food. I return to Albert Street and observe Diana basking in the sun a foot passed the SE corner facing Constitution Square, Tower 1. I certainly hope that there are eggs being incubated on the hotel rooftop.
(Wednesday) April 18, 2012 — (12:00 p.m.) — An adult is perched near the 5th pillar from the SE corner of the Delta Ottawa City Centre hotel rooftop. No signs of its mate at this time.
(Thursday) April 19, 2012 — (7:10 a.m.) — An adult is perched directly in front of the 5th SE pillar of the Delta Ottawa City Centre hotel rooftop. It is keeping watch towards the east of the city.

April 13, 2012 - Ottawa - Delta Ottawa City Centre

CPF Postmaster Reports:

(Friday) April 13, 2012 — (7:10 a.m.) — As I’m walking up Lyon Street I observe an adult gracefully landing on the SW corner of the Delta Ottawa City Centre hotel. I can hear some intense vocalizing as the adult enters the rooftop. I don’t believe that a package of food was delivered but keep in mind that I noticed the falcon from a distance just as it was stepping inside the ledge and it could have something tucked in between its talons. I could still hear some heated vocalizing when I crossed the street. Without a trusted pair of binoculars I could not detect the adults from my vantage point. A few minutes later an adult (although I cannot confirm if it was the same the same adult that just arrived) flew out from the SW section of the rooftop and contoured the Constitution Square, Tower 1 building on Lyon/Albert Streets and came out between Tower 1 and Tower 2 presumably it was heading towards the hotel. I crossed the street again and headed up Albert Street but I could not find any activity or vocalizing coming from the hotel rooftop. I checked the surrounding building rooftops but came up empty-handed. Where the falcon landed is a mystery.
(Friday) April 13, 2012 — (12:20 p.m.) — All appears to be quiet on the Delta Ottawa City Centre rooftop this afternoon. An adult is perched near the 1st SE pillar. After searching Connor and Diana’s usual haunts I cannot detect the presence of its mate.
Take care,
N. McKenna

(Monday) April 9, 2012 — (7:50 a.m.) — We have a full house on this windy morning. An adult is perched near the first SE pillar of the Delta Ottawa City Centre hotel rooftop. The falcon is looking towards the east of the city. Its mate is perched on the SW corner of the same hotel and is looking towards the north/west of the city.
(Monday) April 9, 2012 — (12:10 p.m.) — The adult that was perched on the SW corner of the Delta Ottawa City Centre hotel this morning is now perched directly in front of the 3rd NE pillar on the hotel rooftop and is facing inward. Its mate is still perched near the SE corner and can be heard vocalizing with determination in the direction of the Constitution Square Towers where window washers are cleaning the windows. I passed by the hotel again at 12:55 p.m. and all was quiet on the rooftop with no signs of either Connor or Diana near any of the surrounding buildings.
Take care,
N. McKenna
