News of Louise(catching up!)
March 23, 2024 - Toronto - Canada Square Building - Yonge and Eglinton
Cathy Kerr Reports:
Our recent snowfall not only affected us here in Ontario, but impacted several states as well. In Rockford, Illinois folks have been watching a Peregrine named Louise who was hatched at Canada Square in Toronto in 2016 incubating her four eggs on their nest cam. As the storm rolled in it buried her completely in snow so much so that she completely disappeared from view. Even her mate Brian stopped in to check on her. Louise is made of tough stuff and we have pictures her mother Haven doing the exact same thing. As the storm passed new images were now rolling in. After what seemed an eternity, you can see her head popped up in the exact spot where she was covering the eggs. Images from today show not four but FIVE eggs in a completely dry nest bowl!!!!! Let me repeat for emphasis…Louise is so badass she laid an egg in a storm under a snow drift!!!!!! What a glorious beauty!!! Mother nature whipped up a storm and Louise looked her dead in the eye and said I AM THE STORM. We couldn’t be more proud!!!
