American Kestrel (Falco sparverius)
The American Kestrel is the most common falcon in most of North America.  It is much smaller than a Peregrine (roughly the size of a Blue Jay), and much more colourful, having a rufous back and tail, with patches of blue on the head (both sexes) and wings (males only).
