July 3rd, 2005 -- This baby red-tailed hawk was photographed just north of Delaware, Ohio. Notice that it already has the same coloration in its beak as the adults do. This is somewhat different than other raptors like the peregrine falcon or bald eagle, both of which acquire adult beak colours when they start to change to adult plumage.
