June 2002 -- It doesn't happen often, but occasionally peregrines are accommodating to our wishes - in this case, Lightning considerately stuck out his left leg so that his black band was clearly visible.  While it is difficult to view clearly in the photo, observers inside the office were able to read it, allowing us to confirm that it is indeed Lightning.
