Project School Visit:
Westview Middle School (Hamilton)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In March 2000, we visited Westview Middle School with our adult male peregrine falcon "Pablo".   Included below is a drawing by Grade 6 student Stefan K. of a peregrine falcon wearing a satellite transmitter, and a letter from a teacher:

Westview Middle School was fortunate to have had the opportunity to hear a presentation by the Foundation on Wednesday, March 22.

A number of our students had been involved in a Cable 14 sponsored contest that requested essays on their community.  one of our grade 6 students wrote about the Peregrine Falcons in Hamilton.  She won a Camcorder for the school and an opportunity to have her written submission produced as a "Millennium Minute" which will be aired on the cable station in the next few weeks.  The presentation by the Foundation was therefore timely and enthusiastically received.

Westview School thanks you for your informative and enjoyable presentation, the materials you left with us for our library and for the valuable work that you do with the Foundation.

Thank you very much,

Sincerely,

Pauline Hewak, teacher
