Project School Visit:
Westmount Public School (London)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In January 2001, we visited London's Westmount Public School with our ten-year-old female peregrine falcon "Qetesh".  Below are a couple of drawings sent to us by the students after our visit, followed by some comments from the school.

On behalf of the students and staff of Westmount Public School, I would like to thank you very much for the excellent presentation we had the opportunity to attend on Tuesday, January 30, 2001.

The presentation was very informative, and the short video presentation was excellent.  It was interesting to find out about why peregrine falcons nest on window ledges of tall buildings.  Our students were fascinated to discover that peregrine falcons travel long distances when they migrate and it was neat to find out where the falcons spend the winter months.

The best part of the program, of course, was when we were able to have a close-up look at a real peregrine falcon, Qetesh.  She was quite a hit with our students.

Many thanks from all of us for a terrific presentation, and thanks to Canada Trust for sponsoring it.

Sincerely,

R. Vandertuin
Principal
