In June 2002, we visited Mississauga's St. Gerard School with one of our peregrine falcons. Below is a drawing from a student and letter and comments from the school:
I am writing on behalf of the Grade 5 class at St. Gerard Elementary School in Mississuaga, ON to thank you for the wonderful presentation that you provided last week on Thursday. Maya and Arial were a big hit with our students. Many students commented afther the presentation how much they learned about peregrine falcons and how neat it was that they actually got to see one up close; teachers (including myself) were additionally impressed with how well the information package was put together with consideration of the Ontario Curriculum Standards.
It is our hope that you continue to do as you do at other elementary schools throughout Ontario so that other students can be equally enriched by your delightful and informative presentation. A special thanks goes out to Friends of the Environment foundation who so generously sponsored our school in this educational learning opportunity.
Thank you again,
Miss Kearney, Grade 5 Teacher

What a treat having Maya and Arial in
our school. Thanks to the Friends of the Environment and the Canadian
Peregrine Foundation.
We had a wonderful first hand experience. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge. The presentation was excellent. We enjoyed listening and learning all about this special falcon and of course all of its family. The students had numerous questions. All were answered. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity. Thanks for the wonderful and informative presentation on peregrines. Our Grade 4 students really enjoyed having the little friend Arial and learning all about peregrines.
