In March 2001, we visited Woodstock's St. Francis School with our nine-year-old female peregrine falcon "Ariel". Below are some comments from the school:
On Monday March 26, 2001, Mr. David Pfeffer did
two presentations for our students in grades four to eight. The students learned
about the plight of the peregrine falcon through Mr. Pfeffer's very clear and
interesting presentations. Mr. Pfeffer was able to talk to the children at both
levels and keep their interest throughout. Ariel was, of course, the star of the
show.
I was most impressed with the students'
attention, participation, and knowledge, at all grade levels. This program
showed me just how important our environment is to our children. Their interest
and concern was proven when the Students' Council voted to match the students'
donation of $50.00 to the foundation, for a total of $100.00. I was overwhelmed
by this response.
We
are aware of the expense of such a program and we thank the Canada Trust
Friends Of the Environment for this opportunity. We appreciate the wonderful
video and workbooks as well.
Thank you on behalf of St. Francis School
community.
Sincerely,
Linda
