In November 2001, we visited Huntsville's Spruce Glen Public School with our young peregrine falcon, "Penny". Below are a couple of letters from the school:
Last week we had the privilege to enjoy a presentation from your association, as well as a visit from your beautiful falcon. The programme was not only immensely interesting, but a rare opportunity to view up close, one of our rare and endangered birds. The presenter was knowledgeable and compassionate, showing his obvious love for his work. Thank you so much for allowing us to share in your passion for wildlife. Sincerely, Brenda

On behalf of Spruce Glen School, we would
like to thank you for bringing in the peregrine falcon on Friday,
November 16, 2001 and sharing information with us on ospreys and other
birds of prey. We enjoyed learning about the immensely. it
was a very educational and fun event, which allowed us to get a closer
look at these North American birds. We especially enjoyed the
video of the ospreys in their nest, for it was amazing to see the chicks
as well as the adults.
Seeing Penny the peregrine falcon up close really made our day. It was neat to see how the oil on her feathers made her waterproof, and her beautiful wingspan. We are grateful for your visit, and hope to learn more about these magnificent birds soon. Sincerely, Bonnie & Brittany |
