Project School Visit:
South Public  & West Lynn Public Schools (Simcoe)

Visit sponsored by: The Friends of the Environment Foundation

In January 2001, we visited South Public and West Lynn Public Schools in Simcoe, Ontario.  Accompanying us on this occasion was our two-year-old male peregrine falcon, "Scotty".  We haven't received any feedback from the students, but here is a letter from the school:

On behalf of the staff and students of South P.S. and West Lynn P.S., I wish to thank your organization for taking the time to share one of nature's amazing birds.  The students would rarely have an opportunity to see a Peregrine falcon from a distance, let alone from the close proximity afforded us in the gymnasium.

I understand that Canada Trust is the major sponsor for you program, and I wish to send my gratitude to them as well, for helping provide a unique experience for our students.  Without corporate sponsorship, I realize that this type of opportunity would never take place and I truly hope that Canada Trust will continue to support your program.

Yours truly,

Tom Kleven, Principal
South Public School
