In June 2000, we visited Roy H. Crosby Public School in Markham with our one-year-old male peregrine falcon "Scotty". Below are some comments from the principal:
I am writing this letter to acknowledge what a wonderful program your staff provided for my students at R.H. Crosby P.S. Our grade 4-6 students were spellbound by the presentation on the Peregrine Falcon. The children spoke about nothing else for a number of days following the visit. Comments from the classes include:
it was very exciting and interesting
I loved to see the peregrine up close and live
cool and informative
I did a project on Falcons in grade 3 and I still learned more
movies, diagrams and a real bird - it was great!
The film "Life on the Ledge" and the Student Guides which you left were excellent resources for the classroom teachers. The student's guide to Ontario's Endangered Wildlife gave teachers graph exercises, diagrams, pictures and worksheets as follow up to your visit. The information shared by your presenter was both interesting and thought-provoking. I highly recommend this presentation to schools interested in the plight of our endangered species in their natural environment.
Thank you,
Bob Sandiford, Principal
