Project School Visit:
Central Perth Elementary School (Stratford)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In September 2000, we visited Central Perth Elementary School in the Stratford area with our 9-year-old female peregrine falcon "Qetesh".  We haven't received any feedback from the students, but here is a letter from the school:

Last Tuesday, the students at Central Perth Elementary School enjoyed the peregrine presentation by Mark Nash.  We were pleased with the way Mark adapted his speaking for grade 4 to 8 students.  The varying visual techniques - the video and the bird, made learning effortless.  The question period following, allowed for individual interests and questions.

Not only did this presentation support various components of the Science curriculum, but Mark also left curriculum materials for teachers to further explore the lesson.

Needless to say, after the completion of the presentation, I spoke with a neighbouring school about the excellent quality.  The intention is to share something wonderful.

Thanks for the learning opportunity.  Our students truly benefited.

Sincerely,

Janet Shivas
Principal
