Project School Visit:
Orchard Park Public School (London)

Visit sponsored by: TD Friends of the Environment Foundation

In December 2002, we visited London's Orchard Park Public School with our young male peregrine falcon, "Oscar".  Below is a letter from the school:

On Monday, 2002 December 16, Maya Basdeo made two presentations at our school.  I sat in on one of them and was thoroughly enthralled, as were the students.

The material (video, live birds, maps, etc.) were of high interest and tied in very well with the science curriculum.  Maya's personal presentation style was very polished and she was completely engaged with her audience.  The response of the students was enthusiastic and they asked some excellent questions - a sure sign that they were processing the key learnings of the presentation.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Peregrine Foundation and their sponsors for the provision of an excellent program.  We hope to be able to access this superb resource in the future.

Sincerely,

Doug Acton
Principal
