In June 2002, we visited Burlington's Sir Ernest MacMillan Public School with our female peregrine falcon "Ariel". Below is a letter from the principal:
On behalf of my staff and students, I would like to thank you
very much for the fine presentation that we experienced on June 17, 2002.
Thank you too for the resources that were left at our school for use by our
teachers (e.g. the video "Life on the Ledge").
Maya Basdeo did a wonderful job of presenting our students with a great deal of
information, in an interesting and meaningful fashion. She engaged that
children well and held their attention from the beginning to the end of her
session. Of course, having a live bird visit was truly exciting!
Many thanks to your organization and to the Toronto Dominion Bank for its
sponsorship of this worthwhile series. I am hopeful that, in future, other
schools will have the opportunity to experience this special, curriculum-based
program.
Best wishes,
Janice Hambrock
Principal
