In April 2002 we visited Bishop Macdonell Elementary School in Cornwall with our female peregrine falcon "Qetesh". Below are some comments from a teacher:
On behalf of the students & staff at Bishop Macdonell
Catholic School I would like to commend your organization for the wonderful
presentation recently made to our junior division students. Both David
Pfeffer and Qetesh were outstanding in their ability to teach Canadian science.
How wonderful that my students had the opportunity to meet a live falcon.
The students were thoroughly engaged with David's stories and scientific facts.
It was so nice for the students to have the opportunity to learn such important
scientific information in an engaging and hands-on way. They were all
amazed to be so close to a real live Canadian Peregrine Falcon. They are
talking about Qetesh still! I am sure they will long remember your
message about preserving and protecting our Canadian Wildlife. From a
teacher's point of view it was wonderful to have a presentation that enhanced
our science curriculum!
Thanks so much for leaving us with the booklets and videotape. They are
now a part of our science resource library. I am sure that these resources
will help to encourage students to further understand and participate in
environmental activities.
Sincerely yours,
Sherry Kalil
