Project School Visit:
Laurelwood Public School (Waterloo)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In February 2000, we visited Laurelwood School with our one-year-old peregrine falcon "Scotty".  We haven't received any feedback from the students, but here is a letter from the school:

On February 29, 2000 we had the pleasure of hosting members of the Peregrine Foundation.  They presented three sessions to our grades 4 to 7 students.  The presentations were very well received by the students and certainly heightened their awareness of the need to protect endangered species in general and specifically the Peregrine Falcon.  The Peregrine Foundation is to be commended for its hard work and commitment to restoring the Falcon population.

On behalf of the students, teachers, and parents of Laurelwood Public School I thank you for your generosity in making this presentation available to our community.  Best wishes to you as you promote environmental awareness in our communities.

Sincerely,

Terry Jutzi, Principal
