Project School Visit:
Lake Avenue Public School (Stoney Creek)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In December 2000, we visited Lake Avenue Public School in Stoney Creek with our one-year-old peregrine falcon "Scotty".  Below is a letter from the principal, and some of the great drawings we received from the grade 7 students following our visit:

On behalf of our Kindergarten and Middle School students, I wish to thank you for the excellent presentation on Peregrine Falcons.  You certainly raised the students' awareness of this endangered species.  Integrating conservation issues as they not only relate to falcons but also to humans provided an excellent basis for further research and discussion.  The video and student guides are welcomed additions to our library of resources.  I certainly recommend your presentation to other Ontario schools.

Sincerely,

Doug Booth, Principal
