Project School Visit:
Hillcrest Middle School (Hamilton)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In March 2000, we visited Hillcrest Middle School in Hamilton with our one-year-old peregrine falcon "Scotty".  We haven't received any feedback from the students, but here is a letter from the principal:

The staff and students of Hillcrest Middle School would like to thank your Foundation for a very interesting and informative presentation on the Peregrine Falcon.  The staff said that the presenter was well informed and knowledgeable about the topic and that the method of presentation was very suitable to the age group.

The students were excited about the  presentation and especially enjoyed meeting the Falcon.  The Falcon made the information come to life and was the basis for many questions, which the presenter handled with ease.  The students were chatting about the presentation the next day, which indicates that they enjoyed and learned new information from the experience.

Also, it is important to note that the content of the presentation supported the Science Curriculum.

Thanks, once again, for this opportunity for my students, and I would recommend the presentation highly.

Sincerely,

Sandra Cole, Principal
