Project School Visit:
Hanna Public School (Sarnia)

Visit sponsored by:  TD Friends of the Environment Foundation

In November 2001, we visited Hanna Public School in Sarnia with our barn owl, Seamus.  Below is a sample of the feedback we received from the students:

Thank you for coming to inform us about the peregrine falcon crisis.  I was so shocked to hear how few peregrine falcons are left in Ontario.

I was surprised that some falcons are living in Toronto because of the heat, the high buildings, and the people who help them survive during their first three weeks of life.

I did not know now bad DDT pesticides were.  I don't like the way we are disturbing the food chain and hurting nature and people.  We have to stop doing that!

My favourite part of the visit was when we met your barn owl called Seamus.  He was so cute and interesting.  His claws were so sharp.  His wings were awesome.  I did not know that owls were just carnivores.  Everything you told us was so fascinating.  I will try to visit your website and find out more information about our falcons.

Thank you for telling us so much useful information and for answering all of our questions.
