In November 2000, we visited Kingston's First Avenue Public School in Markham with our one-year-old female peregrine falcon "Scotty". Below are some comments from a couple of the students:
We are Erin S. and Gabriel M. from First Avenue School. On behalf of the other students we would like to thank you for having Marcel come to our school to talk about Peregrine Falcons. He brought a Peregrine named Scotty. Thanks for the opportunity for us to learn a lot about these special birds. We really liked the movie.
We would also like to thank Marcel for telling us more about Peregrines. Marcel knew a lot about Scotty and other Peregrines. He was very interesting to watch. We had never seen a Peregrine before. They are very interesting. When the dive they go three hundred kilometres per hour to catch other birds in mid-air.
Scotty didn't like Marcel talking about his age and when he was mad he would start screeching. At least that's what Marcel said. Marcel was very funny. We learned more about the bug spray, DDT, and how it endangers the Peregrine Falcons. It was a great opportunity for all of us.
Thank you very much,
Erin and Gabriel
