Project School Visit:
Fernwood Park Public School (Hamilton)

Visit sponsored by: TD Friends of the Environment Foundation

In October 2001, we visited Hamilton's Fernwood Park Public School with our male barn owl "Seamus".  Below is a brief letter from a teacher, and a couple of drawings sent to us by the students after our visit.

The falcon presentation was first-rate.  It was one of the high points of an already busy and exciting week.  The presenter, Tracy Simpson, had obviously worked with this age level before, as her presentation skills were well-honed and effective.  The kids are still talking about this excellent show.  It is tying in wonderfully with our unit (grade 4) on Habitats and Communities, as well as our novel study of Farley Mowat's "Owls in the family".  Congratulations again on a job well done!

Sincerely,

Scott Whittington
Grade 4 Teacher
