In May 2000, we visited London's F.D. Roosevelt Public School. The students had an opportunity to meet "Pablo", our 13-year-old male peregrine falcon. Below is a short letter from the vice-principal:
The students and staff of our grades four to six classes were immensely impressed with the fantastic presentation conducted by Mark Nash and Pablo on behalf of the Canadian Peregrine Foundation. The information and the manner in which it was presented were extremely useful in helping the students understand the relationship that the falcon has with the environment and also now human beings must respect all forms of life and be protective of species like the falcon. Mark was a superb informant and with Pablo he was able to maintain the absolute attention of his captive audience. We will be adopting one of the falcons at F.D. Roosevelt and coincidentally our school mascot has been the falcon. Again, thanks to Mark and the Canadian Peregrine Foundation for their amazing presentation and special thanks to Canada Trust for making these presentations possible. Keep up the good work!
Yours truly,
B.W. Perkins, Vice-Principal
