Project School Visit:
English Catholic Central School (New Liskeard)
Visit sponsored by: TD
Friends of the
Environment Foundation
In May 2002, we visited English
Catholic Central School in New Liskeard with our red-tailed hawk
"Eric". Below is a letter from a teacher:
On May 29 our school hosted the peregrine falcon presentation. It
was seen by 155 children and their teachers from grades 4 to 8.
Everyone was excited by the presentation, and the staff remarked that
discussions with their students continued into the afternoon. The
personal, first hand look at the red-tailed hawk which Gilik brought to
the school was an opportunity that our students were fortunate to
experience. As a bonus, the material presented corresponds to the
expectations in the science curriculum.
The staff and students appreciate the dedicated work your organization
does to provide an awareness about birds such as the peregrine falcon.
