Scotty hatched in 1999 at a captive breeding facility in Ontario, and was selected to remain in captivity to be a breeder himself once mature. In the interim, he was loaned to the Canadian Peregrine Foundation for use as an educational ambassador. Over an 18-month period, Scotty visited more than 100 schools across southern Ontario, giving more than 12,000 students their first ever look at a peregrine falcon and instilling in them a greater respect for this and other endangered species. Scotty returned to the breeding program in early 2001, but we hope to have him rejoin the CPF Education Team at some point in the future.
