Sanchos was hatched at a captive breeding facility in Alberta, Canada. He was part of the Canadian Wildlife Service's breeding program that produced young peregrines in captivity, which were released back to the wild as part of a national peregrine recovery plan here in Canada. Sanchos is quite a senior bird, hatched in the spring of 1989, and was active in service up until the spring of 2002 when he was retired as a breeding bird. Sanchos has the same parents as Pablo, a retired member of the CPF education team.
