In February 2000, we visited Kitchener's Doon School with our one-year-old male peregrine falcon "Scotty". Below are some comments from the principal:
On a recent visit to Doon Senior Public School, two members of the Peregrine Foundation, along with their feathered friend, made three presentations to a total of 150 grade 6 students. The presentation was well-planned. Both the oral presentation and the videotape were informative and very appropriate.
The presentation was extremely well-received by students and staff and brought into focus the fragile nature of our endangered species. it also highlighted the responsibility we, as humans, have in protecting our wildlife.
All in all this was an extremely beneficial presentation and we are grateful to the Foundation and to the Friends of the Environment for making this possible.
Thanks from all of us at Doon.
