Project School Visit:
Collegiate Avenue Public School (Stoney Creek)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In February 2001, we visited Collegiate Avenue Public School in Stoney Creek with our two-year-old male peregrine falcon "Scotty".  Below are some comments from the school:

On behalf of our staff and students in the Junior Division, I want to thank you, the Canadian Peregrine Foundation and the T.D. Friends of the Environment Foundation for providing us the opportunity to meet and learn about Scotty, the Peregrine Falcon.

Our students were very attentive and eager to learn more about Scotty.  Your representative, Dave, answered questions thoroughly and taught our students with a live example more than they could ever learn through books, movies or the internet.  After the presentation many of our students wanted to learn more about birds in general and conservation of wildlife.  Our grade 4 class is going to continue their learning using your Student Guide to Ontario's Endangered Wildlife and prepare a display for Open House night in May.

Yours truly,

Mrs. S. Banks
Principal
